Job summary

Gainesville City Schools is seeking a Technician for the 2026-2027 School Year. The role involves skilled repair and maintenance of technology equipment and providing technical support for systems district-wide.

The technician will assist with equipment setup, troubleshooting, software installation, and ongoing user support under the Director of Technology Services and Infrastructure. This position is non-exempt and requires 235 work days per year.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of college in a technology field.
• Bachelor's degree in technology preferred.
• A+ Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install district-standard hardware, software, peripheral and non-computer equipment, and technology upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and repair or replace client hardware.
• Maintain accurate reporting of work performed using enterprise-level ticket tracking system.
• Identify architectural and design issues related to technology.
• Participate in the research and evaluation of software and hardware based on given parameters.
