Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking part-time School-Based Paraprofessionals to support students from preschool through high school with special education needs in onsite settings. You will work with teachers to provide one-on-one, two-on-one, or classroom support during the school day, following IEPs and school procedures.

This role offers a consistent school calendar, flexible hours (approximately 17–30 hours per week), opportunities for more hours, and competitive pay between $25 and $27 per

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1.5 years of special education experience in a moderate to severe classroom.
• Comfort with toileting and diapering if needed.
• Flexibility with hours, caseload, and school site.
• Ability to follow instructional plans, classroom procedures, and behavioral support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive working relationships.
• Authorization to work in the United States; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one, two-on-one, and classroom support throughout the school day.
• Provide behavioral support and intervention for students with moderate to severe needs, using positive reinforcement and safety procedures.
• Assist with personal care and daily needs, which may include mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering.
• Provide emotional support and general academic support, including help with assignments.
• Collect and document data as directed by the teacher and school team.
• Assist the teacher(s) and classroom aides as needed.
• Support implementation of IEP accommodations and behavior plans as directed.
• Assist students during transitions, arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess as assigned.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and administrators.
• Maintain accurate documentation and student records, and maintain confidentiality.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
