Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Case Manager to lead district-level responsibilities under IDEA and Section 504, coordinating evaluations, timelines, and parental notices. The role requires a PEL in Special Education and 2+ years of experience, with collaboration across schools and ODLSS guidance.

The position focuses on ensuring access to appropriate instructional supports, coordinating services, and ensuring compliance with IEP/504 processes within the CPS system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or Master’s in educational administration.
• A valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education (PK-Age 21) endorsement or School Support Personnel endorsement with supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Expertise in special education curriculum and service provision; knowledge of MTSS/RTI; strong communication and data-use skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required meetings under the IDEA and as the 504 Coordinator.
• Coordinate referrals for FIE and ensure timely completion within 60 school days after consent.
• Chair and attend IEP and 504 conferences; act as District Representative.
• Ensure IEP teams use qualitative and quantitative data for service decisions.
