Job summary

Garner Hayfield Ventura Community School District is seeking a Technology Assistant to provide hands-on technical support across schools. You will help install, configure, and maintain computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and classroom technology, ensuring systems are secure and ready for instruction.

The role involves assisting with device deployment, account access, printer and AV support, and collaboration with staff and outside vendors. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle student, staff, and district information.
• Ability to learn new technologies and procedures as district technology needs evolve.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and staff.
• Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of the district technology team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to teachers, students, administrators, and other district staff.
• Troubleshoot computers, Chromebooks, tablets, printers, projectors, interactive displays, and other classroom technology.
• Install, configure, maintain, and update computers, software, applications, and peripheral devices.
• Assist with student and staff account access, passwords, email, and district applications.
• Prepare, configure, distribute, collect, and maintain student and staff devices.
• Assist with Chromebook repair and replacement.
• Support classroom audiovisual and instructional technology.
• Assist with technology setup for classrooms, offices, meetings, testing, presentations, and special events.
• Maintain accurate records of district computers, devices, accessories, software, and other technology assets.
• Assist with inventory, device labeling, equipment storage, and technology lifecycle replacement.
• Assist with maintaining district printers, copiers, phones, and other technology systems as assigned.
• Follow district cybersecurity, student privacy, acceptable-use, and data-protection policies.
• Help educate students and staff on appropriate technology use and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Communicate technical information clearly and respectfully to users with varying levels of technology experience.
• Coordinate with other technology staff and outside vendors when additional support is required.
• Perform other technology-related duties as assigned.
