Job summary

Berklee College of Music seeks a student employee to support the Office of Community and Belonging. You will assist with planning, training facilitation, and program promotion to enhance student engagement and campus inclusion.

The role requires current enrollment, good academic standing, and the ability to work collaboratively with students and staff. It is an on-campus position with an hourly wage and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Current Berklee student in good academic standing.
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination, and implementation of community and belonging educational programs and workshops.
  • Assist with facilitation of training, dialogues, and peer-learning opportunities for students and campus partners.
  • Serve as a peer educator and ambassador for the Office of Community and Belonging.
  • Help develop educational materials, presentations, toolkits, and learning resources.
  • Support outreach efforts to increase student participation in educational programming and initiatives.
  • Assist with promotion of training, workshops, and learning opportunities through social media and newsletters.
  • Provide feedback on student experiences and campus climate.

Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of community and belonging, and social justice educational programs and workshops.
  • Assist with the facilitation of training, dialogues, and peer-learning opportunities for students and campus partners.
  • Serve as a peer educator and ambassador for the Office of Community and Belonging.
  • Help develop educational materials, presentations, toolkits, and learning resources.
  • Support outreach efforts to increase student participation in educational programming and initiatives.
  • Assist with the promotion of training, workshops, and learning opportunities through social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.
  • Provide feedback and insight regarding student experiences, campus climate, and emerging student needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to office projects and initiatives.
  • Represent the office at campus events, resource fairs, tabling opportunities, and community-building activities.
  • Assist with assessment efforts, including collecting participant feedback and evaluating learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and student organizations to expand opportunities for dialogue, learning, and engagement.
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Current Berklee student in good academic standing.
  • Demonstrated interest in community building, belonging, equity, inclusion, social justice, and/or student engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and campus partners.
  • Willingness to facilitate conversations and participate in educational programs and workshops.
  • Ability to take initiative, stay organized, and manage assigned responsibilities.
  • Openness to learning, receiving feedback, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.
