Pearson is seeking a Manager, Content Developer to lead a team of editors responsible for developing, producing, and ensuring quality of assessment materials in the United States. You will manage workloads, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and maintain standards for accuracy, security, and on-schedule delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, education, publishing, or related field (equivalent experience accepted).
  • 5+ years in editorial, assessment, publishing, or related environment.
  • 3+ years leading editors, production staff, or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing multiple complex deliverables with tight timelines.
  • Ability to interpret style guides, client requirements, and quality standards.
  • Experience with high-stakes assessment, educator licensure, or item banking preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools; databases and CMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of editors responsible for development, production, quality control, and publication of assessment exams.
  • Provide day-to-day people leadership, workload planning, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Oversee editorial and production workflows for exams, study guides, and item banks.
  • Plan capacity, prioritize deliverables, and monitor schedules across programs.
  • Ensure adherence to client requirements, style guides, accessibility, quality, and security.
  • Collaborate with content developers, psychometricians, project managers, and client-facing teams.
  • Review status, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to protect timelines.
  • Support QC activities including proofreading, copyediting, metadata review, and formatting.
  • Maintain procedures, templates, tracking tools, and logs for consistency and efficiency.
  • Analyze workflow data and feedback to drive process improvements and accountability.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on educators and learners.
