Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer I to develop high-reliability systems that manage security certificates and configurations across a global edge platform.

You will build scalable backend services using Java and Spring, with frontend work in Angular and scripting in Bash, in a Linux/Unix environment. You will contribute to design, development and deployment of features, collaborating with testing and SQA to ensure robust, high-performance delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Java and familiarity with Python, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot for scalable backend apps.
• Experience with Angular frontend development.
• Foundational knowledge of Terraform and databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations.
• Developing software to use Relational DBMS and NoSQL databases efficiently.
• Creating new features from scratch and optimizing existing functionality.
• Collaborating with testing and SQA to deploy new components.
