Job summary

Akamai's Edge Platform team designs, builds, and operates a global platform delivering reliable performance and security for customers. As a Software Engineer I, you will work on high-throughput, high-reliability systems that manage security certificates and configurations, building scalable back-end services and collaborating across teams.

You'll apply Java, Python, C++, and Bash in Linux/Unix environments, use Spring Boot and Angular, and gain hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments.
• Hands-on project experience with Spring and Spring Boot for backend apps.
• Hands-on project experience with Angular for front-end development.
• Foundational understanding of Terraform.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases and NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Cassandra).

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations.
• Developing software to make efficient use of Relational Database Management Systems and NoSQL databases.
• Creating new features from scratch, enhancing existing features and optimizing existing functionality.
• Following good development methodology, including collaboration with testing and SQA departments to successfully deploy new system components.
