Job summary

Join Akamai Technologies, Inc. as a Software Engineer I to design and build high-reliability, high-throughput systems that manage security certificates and configurations at scale.

You will contribute across backend services using Java, Spring, and NoSQL/SQL databases, and participate in frontend work with Angular. You will collaborate with SQA for deployment, follow robust development practices, and grow expertise in Terraform and cloud-native architectures within a world-class Edge Platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Academic or project-based training in Java and familiarity with Python, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments.
• Hands-on project experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks for building scalable backend applications.
• Hands-on project experience with UI technologies through academic or practical project experience using Angular for front-end development solutions.
• Foundational understanding or project coursework in Terraform.
• Understanding of SQL, relational databases and NoSQL databases through projects.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations
• Developing software to make efficient use of relational DBMS and NoSQL databases
• Creating new features from scratch, enhancing existing features and optimizing existing functionality
• Following good development methodology, including collaboration with testing and SQA departments to successfully deploy new system components
