Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Software Engineer I to join the Edge Platform team. You will work on high-reliability, high-throughput systems that manage security certificates and configurations, and contribute to a global platform.

You’ll design, develop, and deploy components that scale to tens of thousands of concurrent operations, with emphasis on reliability and performance. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's in CS, Java expertise with Spring/Spring Boot, familiarity with Python/C++/Bash,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Proficiency in Java; familiarity with Python, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments.
Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks for building scalable backend applications.
Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development solutions.
Foundational understanding of Terraform.

Responsibilities

Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations.
Developing software to make efficient use of relational databases and NoSQL databases.
Creating new features from scratch, enhancing existing features and optimizing functionality.
Collaborating with testing and SQA to deploy new system components.
