Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer I to join the Edge Platform team.

You will work on high-reliability, high-throughput systems that manage security certificates and configurations, supporting multiple internal teams and customers. The role emphasizes building scalable backend services with Java, Spring, and Angular front ends, plus Terraform, SQL, and NoSQL, in Linux/Unix environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Java and Python/C++ in Linux/Unix.
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot for backend apps.
• Experience with Angular front-end development.
• Knowledge of Terraform, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations.
• Developing software to make efficient use of Relational Database Management Systems and NoSQL databases.
• Creating new features from scratch, enhancing existing features and optimizing existing functionality.
• Following good development methodology, including collaboration with testing and SQA departments to successfully deploy new system components.
