Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer I to help build high‑reliability, high‑throughput systems that manage security certificates and configurations across a global edge platform.

You will design, implement, and optimize backend services using Java, Spring, and relational/NoSQL databases, while contributing to frontend work with Angular. The role emphasizes scalable backend development, collaboration with QA, and hands-on work with Terraform, SQL/NoSQL databases, and modern

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Proficiency in Java; familiarity with Python, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments.
Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot for scalable backend applications.
Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development.
Foundational understanding of Terraform.
Understanding of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Cassandra).

Responsibilities

Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations.
Developing software to efficiently use relational and NoSQL databases.
Creating new features from scratch and optimizing existing functionality.
Collaborating with testing and SQA to deploy new components.
