Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer I to design, build, and operate high‑reliability systems that manage security certificates and configurations for customers.

You will contribute to large‑scale platforms spanning hardware, software, and network infrastructure to deliver secure and efficient edge services. You’ll work on features from scratch, optimize existing functionality, and collaborate with testing/SQA to ensure smooth deployments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with Java and Python, C++, or Bash in Linux/Unix environments.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot for building scalable back-end applications.
• Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development solutions.
• Foundational understanding of Terraform.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, Cassandra).

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent operations.
• Developing software to efficiently use relational and NoSQL databases.
• Creating new features from scratch and optimizing existing functionality.
• Collaborating with testing and SQA to deploy new system components.
