Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina, seeks a dedicated patient care attendant to support nursing staff in a fast-paced environment. You will perform routine interventions, assist with daily patient care, and help ensure smooth unit operations.

Qualifications

• Work requires graduation from an accredited high school or a GED, plus completion of NCA I training or EMT.
• BLS certification is required.
• Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care tasks under nursing staff direction to assist with examination, treatment and care.
• Perform CPR and act as patient attendant for high-risk patients.
• Collect, deliver and conduct routine tests on patient specimens; assist with lab tasks.
• Escort or transport patients; assist with ambulation and daily activities.
• Operate and troubleshoot office equipment; manage lab specimens and orders; answer calls.
