Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC is seeking an ED Tech I to support the emergency department under the supervision of the nurse. This role performs initial basic life support interventions, assists with patient transport, and helps with triage and care duties as needed.

Candidates should have completion of NCA I or EMT training and BLS; heavy lifting and the ability to work nights are required. The position offers full-time hours across 7am-7pm shifts and opportunities to grow within Duke

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; NCA I training or EMT training preferred.
• Current NCA I or EMT credential with valid BLS.
• Ability to perform life support tasks and assist in a fast-paced ED.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic life support interventions under nurse direction.
• Initiate life-saving measures and stabilize patients as needed.
• Transport patients from triage to treatment areas and assist with patient care.
• Act as liaison with patient families and maintain communication about condition.
• Assist with EKGs, vital signs, and specimen labeling as directed by staff.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
