Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join the Emergency Department team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. This full-time role supports patient care and clinical procedures in a fast-paced ED.

The ideal candidate will perform phlebotomy, vital signs, specimen collection, and assist RNs and providers while documenting care in the EMR. Shift is days; 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
• EMT or Phlebotomy credentials are common in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, compassionate, age-appropriate care; documents vital signs and other measurements; reports changes in condition.
• Performs phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, dressing changes per policy.
• Assists RNs and providers with exams, treatments, and emergency situations within scope of practice.
• Communicates with patients and families and documents care in the EMR.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and supports ED patient flow.
