Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics in Lynnwood is seeking a per diem Emergency Department Technician to support our brand new off-campus ED. The ED Tech provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs point-of-care testing, and assists with specimen collection and handling in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and CPR certification; prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Health Care Provider CPR Certification required upon hire.
• Active licensure required within 90 days of hire; remaining license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EKG; computer familiarity; proper record keeping.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Perform waived and moderately complex point-of-care testing.
• Obtain blood samples and transport specimens.
• Handle potentially bio-hazardous specimens with safe procedures per protocol.
