Job summary

Overlake Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for our Bellevue Campus Emergency Department. The ED Tech provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and may perform POC testing and blood draws, transporting specimens as needed.

Shifts are 8 hours (3 pm – 11 pm), part-time (.6 FTE - 48 hours per two-week pay period), with evening coverage. Licensure (NA-C/NA-R or MA-P with 90 days) and BLS are required, plus preferred health care

Qualifications

• Requires WA NA-C or WA NA-R license at hire or eligible.
• Washington State MA-P license; must obtain within 90 days.
• BLS for Health Care Providers required.
• Minimum 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EKG preferred.
• Computer familiarity preferred.
• Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment and record keeping.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• May perform waived and moderately complex point-of-care testing per protocol.
• Obtain blood samples and transport specimens for testing.
• Support care of patients of various ages as needed.
