Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for our Bellevue Campus Emergency Department. The ED Tech provides direct patient care to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

May provide care to patients of various ages and perform point-of-care testing. This is a Part Time (.6 FTE - 48 hours per two-week pay period) role with 8-hour shifts from 3 pm to 11 pm, evenings.

Qualifications

• Active licensure upon hire: WA NA-C or WA NA-R.
• Option to pursue MA-P; must obtain within 90 days.
• BLS for Health Care Providers required.
• At least one year of health care patient-contact experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EKG preferred.
• Computer familiarity preferred.
• Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment and record keeping.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Obtain blood samples and transport specimens for testing.
• Perform waived and moderately complex point-of-care testing per protocol.
• Assist with patient and family needs in Bellevue ED.
• Handle hospital equipment and maintain records.
