Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA is hiring a Patient Access Specialist to schedule Lab, Radiology and ancillary services across campuses and verify insurance while collecting patient liabilities.

Requirements include High School Diploma (associate/bachelor preferred), EPIC training in Worcester, and a 3:00pm–11:30pm schedule with alternating weekends and holidays. Join a team of over 20,000 caregivers dedicated to compassionate care and efficient patient access.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field.

Responsibilities

• Enter Lab, Radiology and basic ancillary service appointments to schedules.
• Schedules patients for treatment and services for multiple providers at multiple campuses.
• Coordinates the provision of multiple services to patients.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage and follows pre-authorization guidelines.
• Collects patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service.
• Arranges tests and ancillary services per guidelines.
• Prioritizes visits to maximize efficiency of staff and facilities.
• Enters patient information into registration/scheduling system.
• Obtains and verifies insurance coverage and pre-authorizations.
• Maintains scheduling and registration accuracy.

Education

High School Diploma

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field preferred
