Job summary

Mount Sinai South Nassau in New York is seeking a Supervisor, Patient Access Services in the Emergency Department to oversee daily patient access activities, ensure accurate registration, and maintain a positive patient experience across the department.

You will lead frontline staff, provide coaching, participate in onboarding, and collaborate with clinical units to resolve issues while ensuring adherence to payer requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access or front-end revenue cycle within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Basic leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Unionized healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards and organizational policies.
