Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support the ED and outpatient areas with efficient registration and courteous service.

The role includes registering patients, collecting payments, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, and guiding patients through the registration process, including ABNs and kiosk check-in. Training includes EHR systems and a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience; experience with computer systems and MS Office.
• Fast-paced, multi-task environment; ability to protect patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients, explains the registration process.
• Processes co-payments, balances due; safeguards cash and reconciles drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire; adjusts coverage.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs.
• Monitors waiting area for smooth registration flow; maintains patient experience.
• Responds to patient concerns and safety issues; follows established procedures.
