Job summary

Qualifications

• State certification required: Teacher of Students with Disabilities (282) or Early Childhood Special Education (035).
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs with progress monitoring and compliance.
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of federal and state regulations for special education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative and facilitate IEP meetings for students transitioning from Early Intervention to RSU 57.
• Complete special education documentation in accordance with legal timelines and district protocols.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and participate in evaluations as appropriate.
• Coordinate and communicate with the Transportation Department regarding students requiring special transportation.
• Coordinate services across schools and community agencies to support student success.
• Coordinate, schedule, and support educational technicians by establishing clear role expectations and accountability.
• Provide ongoing coaching and support to special education and general education teachers regarding IEP implementation, accommodations, and modifications.
• Actively contribute to MTSS and problem-solving teams.
