Job summary

Sibley East Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction for children ages 3 through 7, serving as case manager and leading IEP development. You will collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff to coordinate evaluations, services, and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Minnesota license in ECSE or another applicable special education license.
• Experience with due process procedures, including screenings, evaluations and assessments, IEP development, progress monitoring, service coordination, and meeting facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Participate and lead child find work for Early Childhood
• Conduct intake and developmental history on new referrals
• Coordinate and conduct screenings and Part C and/or Part B evaluations; select and use appropriate assessment instruments and interpret results with the multidisciplinary team
• Assess child, identify needs, and develop integrated IEP goals with families and staff
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs; coordinate evaluations and team meetings and complete due process paperwork within timelines
• Provide instruction through play, routines, peer interactions, and varied materials and teaching techniques
• Adapt equipment and activities to support participation of children with disabilities
• Observe and document progress, adjust instruction, and report to families and team
• Collaborate with ECSE staff, classroom teachers, related service providers, and community agencies
• Provide service coordination; connect families with early childhood resources
• Consult with parents, model skills, and coach families in natural settings
• Facilitate or participate in IEP meetings and professional development
• Maintain evaluations, observations, records, and confidentiality
• Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment and participate in student activities
