Position Summary

RSU 57's Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program serves children ages 3–5 who are receiving special education services. The ECSE Coordinator and Case Manager provides leadership, collaboration, and coaching to support staff and ensure high-quality, inclusive programming for our youngest learners.

The Coordinator oversees the implementation of instruction aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, maintains compliance with state and federal special education regulations, and serves as a central liaison between families, school teams, and outside agencies. The position also includes building-based support and coordination of educational technicians, with a focus on ensuring smooth transitions from Early Intervention into public PreK settings.

Qualifications

  • Receive and respond to special education referrals in collaboration with Special Education Administration.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, staff, and administrators.
  • Plan and participate in staff meetings and committee work as needed.
  • Pursue ongoing professional learning to remain current with best practices in special education and early childhood development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Building Administrator or Director of Special Services.

Terms of Employment

Salary, work year, and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.

Compensation: Annual salary range of $49,000–$88,477

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the School Board's policy on evaluation.

Physical Demands

The employee must be able to: Sit, stand, climb stairs, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push, and pull. Lift 25–75 lbs (depending on student size). Perform other physical tasks as required.
