Job summary

You will manage a caseload and learn to use department software to administer benefits for clients with complex needs.

The position emphasizes interviewing clients, evaluating financial and social information, and adherence to policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of direct client services experience or customer service/clerical experience required.
• Education substitution: 1 year for every 30 college credits.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Learn methods of processing benefit applications and determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers.
• Manage a caseload of economic assistance programs.
• Learn to use department software to administer a caseload.
• Conduct interviews with clients and analyze financial and social information.
• May obtain repayment for economic assistance issued erroneously.
