Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking an ECMO Specialist to operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients requiring long-term pulmonary or cardiac support. You will work independently under orders and with the ECMO physician and coordinator to integrate the care plan with the health care team.

Minimum ICU/CRIT Care experience for RN or RT, strong communication, and flexible scheduling. Prior EMR experience is preferred; BLS/ACLS/PALS as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year ICU or Critical Care experience as RN or RT; 2 years preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team environment experience.
• Flexible hours including days/evenings/nights/holidays/weekends.
• Computer skills; EMR experience preferred.
• RN license current per state requirements; BLS/ACLS certs required; PALS where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the ECMO circuit and equipment for long-term support.
• Collaborate with ECMO physician/coordinator and health care team in care planning.
• Monitor patient status and ECMO circuit; manage ECMO pump.
• Identify and correct problems in ECMO procedures.
• Provide ECMO services as ordered per policies and guidelines.
