Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an ECMO Specialist to operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients requiring long-term pulmonary or cardiac support in Minnesota. The role works under ECMO physicians and coordinators, coordinating with the health care team to plan and deliver comprehensive care.

The ideal candidate has RN or Respiratory Therapy ICU/critical care experience, strong communication, and flexibility to cover variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year ICU or Critical Care experience as a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist.
• Two years of ICU/Critical Care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills; prior EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the ECMO circuit and equipment for long-term support.
• Work under direction of ECMO Physician and Coordinator.
• Collaborate with the health care team to plan and deliver care.
• Monitor patient status and ECMO circuit; manage ECMO pump.
• Identify and correct problems with ECMO procedures; follow policies.
