Job summary

TMSA Public Charter Schools is seeking an EC Support Assistant at the McLeansville campus to aid in creating and maintaining a conducive learning environment for students with special needs. You will assist with IEP and 504 Plan implementation and provide direct support under certified staff supervision.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and families, data collection, and ensuring EC procedures align with NC policies. Immediate start with full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is desirable.
• Patience, empathy, and genuine interest in supporting students with special needs.
• Effective communication with students, teachers and families.
• Basic knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and related laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEPs and 504 Plans under certified staff guidance.
• Support EC teachers in developing and delivering individualized goals.
• Help interpret testing data and placement processes.
• Maintain EC records for compliance with NC policies.
