Job summary

TMSA Public Charter Schools in Apex, North Carolina seeks an EC Support Assistant to help create and maintain an effective learning environment for students with special needs. You will assist with IEPs/504 plans and provide direct support under certified staff guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting in placement processes, managing EC records, and collaborating with families and teachers to meet annual goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs.
• Basic knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and maintaining an effective learning environment for students with special needs.
• Support implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Assist with classroom accommodations and student support under guidance of certified staff.
• Contribute to EC records and compliance with NC policies.
• Support development of annual goals and short-term objectives for EC students.
• Provide parent and family support regarding student needs.
