Job summary

TMSA Public Charter Schools in Apex, NC is seeking an EC Support Assistant to help create a supportive learning environment for students with special needs. You will assist with implementing IEPs and 504 Plans, accommodations, and direct student support under certified special education staff.

This role involves collaborating with teachers and families, maintaining EC records for NC policies, and contributing to program improvement through data review and ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
• Basic knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing IEPs and 504 Plans and accommodations.
• Provide direct support to exceptional students under certified staff guidance.
• Assist in the placement, reevaluation, and manifestation processes.
• Maintain EC records and ensure compliance with NC policies.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and administrators to support students.
