Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support high-tech laser systems, motion stages and vacuum products. The role focuses on installation, repair, alignment, and on-site customer support across North America and internationally.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree (Bachelor's preferred) and 5+ years of laser experience, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Expect travel and a dynamic, customer-facing environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related practical experience including lasers and laser systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, and optical systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with customers.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across North America.
• Proficient PC skills: MS Office, data analysis applications.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose and repair ultra short pulse laser systems.
• Perform optical alignment and troubleshooting of electromechanical subassemblies.
• Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of the system; troubleshoot and repair.
• Interact with customers and factory on administrative and technical matters; may include shift, weekend, or on-call coverage.
