Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and load trailers. Starting hourly rate is $22.26 with a shift from 06:00 to 11:00. Primary duties include operating forklift or pallet jack, verifying freight docs, and securing cargo for transit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Able to lift/move freight of varying weights several times daily.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
