Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading.

You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, verify paperwork, secure freight, and assist customers while maintaining safety and accuracy.

This role requires basic math, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and willingness to work varied shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
