Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to move freight across the dock area and assist with loading to trailers. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with a 15:30–20:30 shift.

You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, verify freight docs, secure loads, and help customers with freight paperwork. Ideal candidates may have a high school diploma (preferred) and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work independently or as part of a team in a dock environment with varied weather and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy loads repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies; perform other duties.
