Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dockworker to move freight across the dock area, loading and unloading trailers and assisting with freight documentation and customer service. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour, with shifts starting early in the morning.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts or pallet jacks, verifying documents, securing loads, and aiding in the repair of damaged freight. Prior warehousing experience is preferred, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight-handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate freight handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck) safely.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports; assist customers with freight docs.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
