Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight within the dock area, loading to and from trailers. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with varied shifts including early morning and late night.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying freight documentation, securing loads, and assisting customers with freight and documentation. Safety and accuracy are required in all duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
