Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers, supporting loading and unloading in a warehouse setting. The role demands safe operation of equipment and accuracy in freight documentation.

You will verify freight details, secure cargo, assist customers, and perform hostling duties as needed, in a fast-paced environment with varied conditions. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour with a shift from 01:00 to 09:30.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred, if required.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight weight and to open trailer doors with lift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck for freight handling.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
