Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a warehouse associate to transport freight within dock areas and assist with loading to trailers. The role involves operating forklifts and manual equipment, verifying documentation, securing freight, and ensuring safe, compliant handling.

Starting rate is $21.16 per hour with potential up to $24.75; hours include early and late shifts. Candidates should be able to lift heavy freight, work independently or as part of a team, and have warehousing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to ~100 pounds and lift 75 pounds doors
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight
• Work independently or as part of a team
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck
• Verify freight documentation for type, weight, and hazmat
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary
• Complete required documentation and reports
• Assist customers with freight and freight docs
• Perform hostling duties if required
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies
• Perform other duties as required
