Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading and unloading from trailers. You will verify freight documentation, secure cargo, and perform hostling duties as needed.

The role requires basic math, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and dock plates up to 75 pounds. Starting pay is about $21.16 per hour, with shift hours 16:30–21:00 and varying schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, up to ~100 pounds; dock plates up to ~75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope and other supplies.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
