Job summary

Early Learning Corps is seeking an Early Learning Tutor to support preschool students in a classroom setting, helping them develop early literacy and numeracy skills. You will work alongside a teacher, participate in proven activities, and receive coaching to grow professionally.

The program is administered by Ampact, a national nonprofit. AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly stipend and contribute to the community while serving.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Able to complete a background check.
• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-kindergarten classrooms with learning activities.
• Support preschoolers and track progress with the on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into tracking software.
• Engage with students through talking, reading, writing, singing and play to build literacy and math skills.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
