Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern Hampshire is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher for the Mary Stuart Gile Early Learning Center at NHTI. This role supports children from 6 weeks to kindergarten and collaborates with student teachers in a dynamic, lab-school setting.

You will assist teachers, engage with children, and help maintain health and safety standards while pursuing professional development within a multi-site organization.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of child development principles.
• Experience in early childhood education settings preferred.
• Willingness to learn health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that facilitates youth development outcomes.
• Respond sensitively to children’s interests, interact positively, and encourage exploration.
• Assist with curriculum-adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to Club members.
• Support health and safety of all members.
• Record child observation notes to aid curriculum planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records.
• Follow NAEYC standards and GSQ, as applicable.
