Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire seeks an Associate Teacher for the Mary Stuart Gile Early Learning Center at the NHTI campus in Concord. The role supports children and teachers, upholds BGCCNNH mission, and ensures health and safety in a dynamic lab-school setting.

You will engage children, implement emergent curriculum, document observations, supervise staff and volunteers, and collaborate with families to foster development in a caring, safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Associate teacher qualification with 9 credits or 1000 hours of supervised child care experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and curriculum development.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs.
• Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children.
• Ability to motivate members and manage behavior with patience.
• Willing to maintain Club dress code and adapt to learning styles.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications per licensing requirements.
• May travel between locations occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes, responding to individual children’s interests and needs.
• Plan and outline emergent curriculum to meet youth needs.
• Establish and maintain program goals for health and safety.
• Record and observe child progress to inform curriculum planning.
• Oversee safety, cleanliness, and classroom upkeep.
• Supervise staff, practicum students, and volunteers; provide feedback.
• Facilitate clear communication with families, staff, and children.
• Support volunteers and staff with modeling teaching strategies.
• Lead planning meetings and help share program information.
• Commit to open, professional communication with families.
