Job summary

ECS4Kids (formerly Episcopal Children’s Services) seeks a Substitute Teacher to support daily operations in a Georgia Head Start center. You will assist in classrooms, maintain a warm, safe environment and help implement developmentally appropriate activities.

Responsibilities include supporting staff, following the center’s policies, and collaborating with families to promote children’s learning and well‑being. Relevant certifications and high school education are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
• Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead/assist in classroom when regular teacher is absent.
• Implement age-appropriate learning activities and language support.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized learning environments and follow ECS policies.
• Communicate with families and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
