Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking a Substitute Teacher to support daily operations in our Georgia Head Start center. You will assist in classrooms, kitchen and janitorial duties as applicable, and collaborate with families to ensure a high-quality learning environment.

Under the Center Manager, you will help maintain developmentally appropriate activities, implement curricula, and uphold safety policies while fostering a warm, nurturing atmosphere for children to thrive socially and cognitively.

Qualifications

• Provide nurturing teacher-child interactions and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Plan and implement learning experiences aligned with Head Start outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with families and staff.
• Maintain records and complete required documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead/Assistant Teacher when a regular classroom teacher is absent.
• Familiarize with the day’s planned activities.
• Assist in culturally sensitive activities for varied ages and languages.
• Provide a warm, nurturing environment and uphold positive guidance policy.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and accreditation standards.
• Follow safety and medical procedures including handling medications.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene procedures and assist in center operations.
• Encourage parent involvement and effective communication with families.
