Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories, located in New Mexico, seeks a multidisciplinary R&D Systems Security Engineer to lead secure product realization for high-consequence national security systems.

You will apply NIST SP 800-160 workflows, coordinate with engineers and cybersecurity specialists, and drive risk-informed decisions across the lifecycle, with on-site work and opportunities to influence critical national security programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-Level security clearance.
• Experience in systems security engineering and threat-informed analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, tailor, and implement security engineering processes across the lifecycle.
• Lead subversion risk assessments including threat modeling and system analyses.
• Document subversion risks using multiple information sources for risk management.
• Define and decompose security requirements across hardware, firmware, and software.
• Maintain security assurance artifacts and evidence packages demonstrating risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate cybersecurity and assurance controls.
• Provide technical leadership in model-based and digital engineering for assurance data.
