Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a multidisciplinary R&D Systems Security Engineer to lead the secure product realization lifecycle for high-consequence national security systems. You will apply NIST SP 800-160 principles and risk-informed engineering to integrate security across the full lifecycle.

The role requires collaboration with Systems, Hardware, Software, Cybersecurity, and Counterintelligence teams, and on-site work is required due to sensitive work environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with five years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active DOE Q security clearance required to start, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead subversion risk assessments including threat modeling and system risk evaluations.
• Define, decompose, and flow system security requirements across hardware, firmware, software, and production.
• Develop security assurance documentation and evidence packages demonstrating requirement satisfaction and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate cybersecurity and anti‑subversion controls into product designs and processes.
