Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer for our Freeport, ME office with options in FL, NC, MI, and NY. You will perform electrical studies and support SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients, working within the Power Delivery ESSP group.

You will contribute to protective relaying, power system planning, design studies, and data acquisition while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Recent engineering graduate or student pursuing engineering degree.
• Strong analytical and judgement abilities.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency with technical writing and office tools.
• Commitment to safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems.
• Conduct protective relaying analyses and coordination studies.
• Support power system planning and analysis, including voltage stability.
• Design grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality assessments.
• Configure RTUs, relays, HMIs, and communication networks; travel to sites.
• Develop and test control schemes and data transfer protocols.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation of findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across project controls and permitting.
