Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experience Professional for our Freeport, ME office. The role involves electrical studies, SCADA, and protection work within the ESSP team, with consideration for candidates in Ann Arbor, MI; Syracuse, NY; Orlando, FL; and Fort Mill, SC.

You will contribute to power delivery and protection design, support planning studies, and prepare technical reports while traveling to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• BSEE, BSEET, or BSCE from ABET‑accredited university.
• 3–5 years design or device configuration experience in power systems.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and permitting.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non‑engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and system protection tasks.
• Assist protective relaying design, coordination, and relay settings.
• Support power system planning studies and voltage stability analyses.
• Prepare technical reports with findings and calculations.
• Travel to project sites for testing, commissioning, and field work as needed.
