Job summary

WSP seeks an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experience Professional to join our Freeport, ME office, with consideration for Ann Arbor, MI; Syracuse, NY; Orlando, FL; and Fort Mill, SC. You will perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection tasks across generation, substations, and transmission, collaborating with the ESSP team to deliver reliable energy solutions.

Qualifications

  • BSEE (ABET-accredited) degree.
  • 3–5 years experience in design or device configuration in relevant disciplines.
  • Engineer in Training Certificate.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and permitting.
  • Analytical mindset with good judgement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-leadership with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection tasks.
  • Travel to project sites to troubleshoot and commission systems.
  • Support design studies for substations, transmission, and distribution.
  • Develop technical reports with findings and conclusions.
  • Assist with risk identification and project planning.
  • Coordinate field/site work and permitting.
